Friday night it rained out but by Saturday it was all gone. Just the
usual mud holes here and there but no problem The safety meeting was
held and the 24 shooters promised not to shoot each other. We shot 4
stages; Still, Bath House, Bank and Store. All the Sceneries were
written by other members of the club rather than me so there were some
challenging problems. Not all of us, but some of us need just a little
more practice from reloading from the body. At the Bath House you had to
reload one rifle bullet in order to shoot the 11 required rounds. Sounds
easy-------Look at the scores for stage 2 the Bath House. Was it
fun--------- you bet ya . The Still rifle targets were just a little bit
hard to see. The back ground of trees and under brush is sort of
blending in with these targets. Maybe some other color or outlining of
those rifle targets might help. The next time there are some Officers
out there, they might take a look at them. The Bank stage took a lot of good hits but there were a few Ps given out. Most likely this was due to the shooting of the rifle. The 1-2-1-3-4 twice got to some of us, but here again we all laughed, well most of us anyway. The Store went without many problems. We did a good job on cleaning it out. Frosty Dude, the Store owner, seemed pleased that his stage was enjoyed by all. Glad to see Frosty's wife back shooten again. The ladies were shooten great and I'll tell you what guys, them there women foke are putten out some mighty fine shooten. One of these days the gals are going to challenge the men to a shoot out and this ole boy might just sit back and watch. The gun toten cowboys from up north were down here shooten with us as always and did a right fine job. We had 4 guys show up with some guns and was wanten to see if they could do some cowboy shooten. We worked them into the pose and I think we will see them back again. Sure hope so, they were might fine people. If yo guys are reading this be sure and give us your E-mail address. Also think about you and your other half coming to the Cowboy Social. Don't worry if you are not fitted out yet in cowboy duds yet, your welcome to come as you are. The election of Club Officers will be at the next shoot. Try and be there or make sure you respond to the election. We have a good group to choose from so all votes are important. The next shoot Sunday June 22, we will shoot 4 stages again. The Hotel, which has some new targets (thanks Danny, they really look great), the Store, Gun Shop and the Bank This may be my last recap that I will write With the changing of the Guard, so must the tasks involved. I enjoyed the chats that we had, but it"s just time for this horse to slow down and regroup. See you all down the trail Mud Puppy |
