Ground has been broken and the foundation
laid for our newest stage, the Church! This is going to be our biggest
stage yet and most unique because it will have several firsts for us: It
will be a commemorative stage to Aaron (Crested Butte Kidd) Webster,
Blue Mesa's deceased son. It will be totally enclosed so that we can use
it for a meeting house, bad weather stage, and of course, church
services. It will be a going forward stage, which means that not only
will you move side to side, but also forwards and backwards during the
scenarios. It will have multiple target locations on the sides and back
of the building.
This is a huge undertaking in both money and time to complete. A big
thanks to Blue Mesa for donating the financial support and also his
"sweat equity" in getting it started and built. Now we need the help of
our members and guests to finish it off. We are going to have a "Church
Raising" on Sunday, June 19th at 9:00am. This is the third Sunday of
June, our regularly scheduled work day. We would like for as many of us
as possible to come help put the church up. It doesn’t matter if you
have any construction skills. There will be plenty to do for every one.
